Support for Life’s Most Transformative Moments.
-Serving the Dayton-area radius-
Birth is a major life moment. At Delphira Bloom, birth is supported with intention, evidence-based care, and a steady, grounding presence. I’m here to walk alongside you through pregnancy and birth with emotion support, advocacy, and education, so you feel informed, confident, and deeply supported while doing something truly powerful.
A Birth Doula a trained, non-medical professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to a birthing person and their family before, during, and shortly after childbirth, acting as a guide and advocate to help them achieve a positive and empowered birth experience, complementing the care from doctors and midwives.
What is a Birth Doula?
Your birth, your choices. Held with intention.
Hi, I’m Payton! The heart behind Delphira Bloom.
I grew up in Northern California, surrounded by forests, changing seasons, and community, an environment that shaped my deep love for nature and appreciation for God’s creation. That connection to the natural world has stayed with me throughout my life and continues to influence how I approach birth: with reverence, curiosity, and trust in the body’s design. Life eventually brought me to the Dayton area through the military alongside my husband of three years, my high school sweetheart since freshman year, which taught me the value of adaptability and partnership.
I’ve always had a creative mind and a love for the arts, drawn to creating and trying new things. I’m a lifelong animal lover and a chronic hobby-hopper, fueled by curiosity and a genuine joy for learning. That curiosity found its home in healthcare during my first role as an infant hearing screening technician on a mother-baby unit. Working closely with midwives, labor and delivery nurses, OB/GYNs, and lactation consultants, I became completely captivated by the birth and lactation world.
That experience sparked my journey toward becoming a lactation consultant, and along the way I realized just how foundational birth is to the breastfeeding relationship, it’s where everything begins. Pursuing birth doula certification felt like a natural next step, and it has only deepened my awe for what our bodies are capable of. I’m a Christian with an energetic personality, and at my core, I’m deeply relational. I value connection, humor, and the quiet, meaningful moments, the kind of conversations that remind you you’re not alone. I believe there is space for both strength and softness in birth, for laughter alongside vulnerability, and for support that feels steady, genuine, and grounded.
I truly believe I’ve found my calling in this work. Supporting families during one of the most transformative moments of their lives is an honor I don’t take lightly, and I would be deeply honored to be part of your birth team.

Common Q&As
-
I have completed my doula training and am currently working toward full certification. This allows me to provide thoughtful, well-educated care while continuing to build experience and education in birth work.
-
During labor, I provide continuous presence, comfort techniques, reassurance, and guidance. I help you navigate each stage of labor while encouraging communication with your care team and supporting the overall flow of the birth experience.
-
Many families choose to hire a doula in the second trimester, but you can reach out at any point in pregnancy. Earlier booking allows more time to connect, prepare, and plan together.
-
Doctors and midwives are responsible for your medical care and clinical decisions. My role is non-medical. I focus on continuous presence, comfort measures, education, and helping you feel informed and grounded throughout labor and birth.
-
Not at all. Supporting partners is a big part of my role! I work alongside your partner, not instead of them. I help guide partners to understand what’s happening, suggest ways they can provide comfort, and ensure they feel included and confident throughout the birth.
-
Yes. I have a backup doula available in the event of an emergency or illness. While this is very rare, I always plan ahead and I would ensure you are supported by a trusted backup doula who aligns closely with my care style, so you’re never left without support.
The back up doula and myself communicate ahead of time so you can feel confident knowing there is always a plan in place for your care. -
At this time, I do not offer full postpartum doula packages. However, I provide early postpartum support, including emotional support, newborn education, and feeding guidance in the immediate postpartum period.
-
Absolutely. I help you explore your preferences, understand your options, and create a birth plan that reflects your values while staying flexible for the unexpected.
-
While I don’t teach formal childbirth education classes, I do provide ongoing education, guidance, and discussion throughout our time together. I strongly encourage (and in many cases require) clients to participate in a comprehensive childbirth education class. These classes build a strong foundation, and together we can then talk through how that information applies to your specific goals, preferences, and birth experience. Please see my resource page to access local childbirth education classes!
-
Absolutely! I welcome teen parents and strive to provide a supportive, respectful, and judgment-free space where questions are encouraged and autonomy is honored.
-
I support all types of births. If induction or medical interventions become part of your experience, I continue to provide comfort measures, emotional support, and advocacy so you feel supported and informed throughout the process.
-
Every labor is different. Whether your birth is long and steady or fast and intense, I adjust my support to meet you where you are and help you feel calm, confident, and cared for throughout.
-
If your birth plan changes to a cesarean, I remain a steady source of support. I help you prepare emotionally, support your partner, and stay present before and after surgery whenever possible.
-
Birth is unpredictable, and flexibility is key. I support you through all outcomes,no matter how your birth unfolds!
-
I’m on call for you 24/7 beginning around your estimated due date window and remain on call until your baby arrives, so you can reach out anytime labor begins or questions come up!
